Students’ performance in these first sessions highly depends on how concentrated they are during training sessions, how willing to confront their fears they are, as well as, how much time they dedicate to your board. The board plays also a very important role in acquiring technique and that is exactly the reason why we have to be careful while choosing one: for instance, a hasty decision in choosing a small board could destroy the jibing and tacking techniques you learned.
Therefore for better results, make sure
- your training sessions are at least 1-2 per week
- you are turning the board well, until the specific movement come naturally to you
Good luck!
